Born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Michael Grant Larkins lived a life marked by relentless curiosity, deep compassion, and unwavering faith. From an early age, Michael had a thirst for knowledge and truth—a pursuit that defined his journey and left a lasting legacy on everyone blessed to know him.
A proud graduate of Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1975, Michael continued his academic career at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, where his love for learning blossomed. He pursued theology, philosophy, and martial arts not just as hobbies, but as disciplines—approaching each with humility and reverence.Throughout his life, Michael pursued growth in both knowledge and faith.

Michael was the beloved son of Bob Grant Larkins and Marietta Crawford Larkins, and the grandson of Barney and Maggie Crawford of Winchester, Kentucky. His siblings—Dorothy Larkins-Wesley, Daniel Larkins, and Donald Lee Finley Jr.—shared in the joy of growing up alongside someone whose faith and wisdom would one day touch countless lives.
But his greatest joy in life was his children: Michael Grant Larkins II, Kesha Shontee Marie Larkins, and twin daughters Kaila Nicole Larkins and Karra Nichelle Morgan. To them, he was more than a father—he was a guiding light, a protector, and a teacher of truth and love.
A Voice for Growth: The Wealth Response Podcast
In his later years, Michael turned his passion for mentorship into a platform with the Wealth Response podcast, where he inspired listeners to grow—financially, mentally, and spiritually. His words carried weight, not because he sought the spotlight, but because his insights were rooted in lived experience and godly wisdom.
Michael served faithfully at True Life Bible Church as a member and teacher. He extended his discipleship beyond the church walls, mentoring youth through MentorMe of West Michigan, a ministry placing Christian adults in the lives of at-promise youth. He also worked with Set Free Ministries’ Follow-Through program, walking alongside men on their spiritual journeys and helping them navigate life’s challenges through scripture and love.
Those who encountered Michael often described him as a vessel—used by God to speak truth and healing into their lives. His ability to lead others back to scripture in the face of life’s hardest questions made him both a shepherd and a friend.
